Tenpin’s CEO inspires employees to “Talk more, Care more and Sell more” by integrating Yapster with CPL Learning

The “covid economy” has been hard on many but, when human contact is the heart of your business, it’s clearly even more difficult to keep employees motivated, healthy and productive. Remote working might work fine for the accountants at KPMG, but those of us working in customer-facing businesses tend to learn best when we’re together.

During our most recent Feature Release presentation, Graham Blackwell, CEO of Ten Entertainment Group plc, discussed the challenges of leading more than 1000 frontline colleagues in recent times. Ten’s mission is to “provide a memorable entertainment service” rooted in employee engagement.

In a pandemic this raised some obvious dilemmas: “how do we connect? how do we deliver? how do we speak to everybody?” Graham asked himself. Fortunately, Yapster was able to help (Tenpin exited the first coronavirus lockdown with a 96% employee approval rating for their company communications).

Beyond delivering core mobile communications to hard-to-engage colleagues, Yapster’s technical team searched relentlessly for ways to make our platform more useful - both through internal development and via integration with 3rd party platforms. This is how the advanced integration (or “Yapplication” 😉) with CPL came into being.

CPL Learning is one of the UK hospitality sector’s leading workplace learning platforms, offering learning solutions that unlock frontline colleagues’ potential. Together, we have developed a single sign-on (SSO) link from the Yapster app into CPL, simplifying accessibility for our joint customers. The integration also allows cross-posting of learning notifications from CPL to Yapster. Since integrating CPL, Ten has generated over 16,000 Yaps and 700 newsfeed posts (90%+ of Ten employees are active Yapster users), making learning truly “social”.

Graham closed the webinar by reminding viewers how important it is as a leader to “cultivate a culture of fun” whilst maintaining “trust and a secure employment” for colleagues. We are thrilled that our work and collaboration with CPL has contributed to Ten’s amazing culture and their remarkable ability to bounce back as one from the pandemic.
