Why we're fundraising on Crowdcube
We're excited to announce that our Crowdcube page is now live and open to investment. Here's Rob's email to friends of Yapster explaining the reasons behind the fund raise and the opportunity ahead.
Can you believe it's been 3 years now since Craig and I co-founded Yapster? It seems like only yesterday that were starting out - with no product, customers or colleagues...
A lot has changed since those early days. The Yapster messaging platform, is now being used by thousands of people working for some of the best known brands in retail and hospitality, including Dunelm, Caffe Nero and Ann Summers.
We now have a brilliant development and sales team working hard to meet this growing demand and a huge opportunity ahead of us.
With the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) about to bite in May 2018 (check out this article explaining why this will lead to many big employers moving away from WhatsApp and Facebook) we are gearing up for significant growth over the next 12-18 months.
That’s why we've decided to raise new money from investors to help us capitalise on this window of opportunity - allowing us to invest more aggressively in our product, people and marketing.
We chose to raise this funding via Crowdcube in order to give the widest range of our personal and professional contacts the opportunity to join the adventure.
If you get a moment, please check out https://www.crowdcube.com/yapster for details and - if you think appropriate - please consider forwarding to anyone who you think this opportunity might be a good fit for.
For those of you that are particularly active on social media :) perhaps you'll even consider posting something like "My friends at @yapsterchat (GDPR-compliant mobile messaging) are currently open to new investors. Check out https://www.crowdcube.com/yapster for the details". We’d really appreciate anything you can do to spread the word.
As ever, I can talk about our plans for Yapster all day and all night - and am very happy to have coffees or calls to discuss in detail.
Thanks for your support
P.S. here’s the small print: Investments of this nature carry risks as well as potential rewards. Please be #InvestAware as your capital is at risk.
